The world as we know is facing a major crisis. All of the people, all of our memories, all of the places we used to start our most valuable memories, are beginning to collapse. All of our food, trees, water, and most of our resources are beginning to disappear at an unbelievable rate, and there is nothing to stop this chaotic sequence. To be honest, I was underestimating this video until I saw it. While watching the video I was wondering, “If we don’t have the necessities, how are we going to live longer and stronger everyday?” And with the radiation spreading across the globe from Japan, I was wondering how desperate out resources are turning out to become.
Since the beginning of mankind, with the Romans, the Mayans, and all of the past civilizations, the excavations have shown that they are all gone. All of the famous civilizations are now gone, and through this video I was able to realize that we are next. Our civilization, like the pages of the history books, will turn out as another moment the kids in the future will recall as the vanished past. As time progresses, more and more of us will grow and duplicate into more, and later on, there will not be resources for simply everyone. The advancement in technology will simply work on survival for everyone, and with them living through time, the end is near for our natural resources.
Is that good? Sure, it means that we can eave longer than ever. But if there are too many people, how can earth simply handle all of us? How can it provide infinite resources for all of the people? It’s not just that. More and more people means more and more cars, and thus, more and more gas is being produced towards global warming. Yet, despite this warnings people just don’t stop. It is true, as time progresses, we will be the ones in the history book pages of the year 2210, where it all collapsed; our lives today will just be another time period a student would have to memorize for a quiz.
Yet, there is still hope. There is always a way to prevent all this. Diamond states that by looking at the mistakes, and by studying the instances of the past, we are able to prevent such tragedies. The impact of Beijing and even Central Mexico can all be stopped when we realize that we will turn out to be in rusts and ashes for a new city to be built. Diamond says we should learn from our lesson, and I certainly agree. Yes, almost all of us want a car, ignore environmental days like Earth Day, or No-Car Day. I used to be one of these people to, but now that I look at it, I really want my great, great, great, great grandchildren to not blame my generation for such pollution and damage we have caused to our planet.
